Bir Kar Single Cultivar Instant Green Kava
Santo's Red-Stemmed Cultivar: Fast, Clean, Two-Stage
Named after its distinctive reddish stems ("kar" means red), Bir Kar is a rare cultivar grown in the heartland of Espiritu Santo. Known for its two-stage character, a quick cerebral brightness followed by body relaxation, Bir Kar is good for refreshing mind and body after a long day, or for social sessions where you want a clear head.
Character: Fast onset. A clear, noticeable cerebral lift, not sharp or jittery, then a settling into body relaxation. Balanced-heady, and the instant runs cleaner and brighter than the traditional grind. Popular for shorter sessions and social gatherings.
Taste & Aroma: Aromatic profile with notes of roasted peanuts, black pepper, and dark chocolate.
Instant Format: Traditional kava powder contains coarse, woody fibres that must be strained out before drinking. For our instant kava, freshly harvested roots are washed, peeled, and have these fibres carefully removed prior to drying and milling into an ultra-fine powder. This is why you can enjoy it without any straining or kneading, just mix with water.
Origin: Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu
Chemotype: 423165 (typical)
Processing: Freshly harvested roots, coarse fibres removed, temperature-controlled dehydration, precision milled
Laterals-to-stump: Natural (30-70%)
Kavalactone Ratios (batch averages):
K to DHM: 5.36
K to DHK: 1.53
DHK to Y: 1.20
Kavalactone ratios shift with soil, altitude, plant age and harvest, and instant runs a different profile to traditional grind, so every batch is a little different. The COA for your specific batch has the actual numbers.
